Humans, the Most Intelligent Species?

Human error, once again, results in serious injury during an ill-advised and illegal wildlife interaction. Do not feed alligators. The law against it is in place to protect the animals AND people. In this case of blatant disregard, it cost the tour operator a bag of marshmallows, his hand, his livelihood and the alligator's life.

Hard to tell how many unknowing tourists, including a lot of kids, are exposed to this illegal act every day in Florida by Professional tour operators. Nonetheless, in this incident, two kids got to see first-hand (no pun intended) what disrespect for wildlife and disregard for the law can cost. An ugly, but very real example of what happens when ignorance and arrogance occupy the same space at the same time.
